Living HIstory and reenactments of the Viking Age
Welcome to the Viking Age, where curiosity is your longship and knowledge fills your sails. Based in the Twin Cities, the Viking Age Club is a nonprofit community of reenactors and educators dedicated to bringing early medieval Europe to life.
We believe history should be experienced and not just only behind glass or in books. We recreate the skills, stories, and items used in daily life of the Norse people in ways that audiences can see up close and connect with. By doing so, we aim to turn distant history into real moments that are memorable and meaningful.
LIVE STEEL COMBAT!
More widely known as “Western Style Combat Reenactment”, Live Steel is our interpretation of what a melee skirmish could of looked like over 1000 years ago. Using blunted steel weapons and armor, our warriors test their skill and prowess in this non-choreographed combat sport where they also showcase the equipment and tactics used by the Vikings! Our family friendly shows features holmgang style duels, shield walls and group fights!
